Ferroniobium

An example of an aluminothermic application is the production of ferroniobium. Exothermic applications include the use of aluminum in hot-topping compounds, stress relieving, exothermic welding, and powder lancing.
When used as an alloying additive aluminum powder and other ingredients are added to molten metals.
The standard ferroniobium is produced by means of a new metallurgical process improved by CBMM, the aluminothermic reduction. After scientific discussion about ferroalloys, it could by say, that: "To efficiently produce high purity niobium halide by forming
ferroniobium into ferroniobium nitride by a solid nitriding method, applying iron removal to this ferroniobium nitride by means of acid treatment, and carrying out halogenation treatment.
